More than fifteen national and local media attended a press conference
held on the HMS Liverpool on 27th May 03. Ambassador Sir Christopher
Hum, Consul-General Sizeland, Captain Ewence and Dr. Wu briefed
the media on UK-China relationship, Shanghai-UK co-operation, UK-China
navy co-operation and sister city development respectively.
The media was keenly interested in the navy exchange programme,
especially the joint exercise between HMS Liverpool and the PLA
Navy vessel

| Huaibei on Wednesday, the successful Britain at the
Leading Edge last year, and the impending ThinkUK event. On the sister
city front, reporters were impressed by the act of Liverpool City
having a Royal Navy vessel visiting Shanghai as a part of its twinning
activities. However, many questions were directed at the proposed
Shanghai Centre project and requested specific details to be sent
for further features. |
