| UK TRADE & INVESTMENT - (27/10/03)
UK Trade & Investment today became the new single identity for the
UK Government's business support organisation British Trade International
and its operating arms Trade Partners UK and Invest.UK.
The aim of UK Trade & Investment is to help UK companies build their
international business and to encourage foreign direct investment.
This new identity reflects the increasingly close relationship between
trade and investment work within the organisation and its continuing commitment
to provide an integrated service - delivering business opportunities through
a global network.
Sir Stephen Brown, Chief Executive of UK Trade & Investment, said:
'Our new identity signifies our commitment to deliver business opportunities
through our global network. It underpins the closer relationship between
trade and inward investment work in our posts overseas and in the UK regional
network, allowing us to reach more customers with wider services.'
ChinaLink is one of the main collaborators of UK Trade & Investment
in the China market. Accredited for managing UK Trade & Investment
grant support for Trade Missions, trade fairs and trade seminars, ChinaLink
manage one of the biggest China programmes for UK Trade & Investment
each year. Dr. Kegnag Wu, Director of ChinaLink, is delighted to see the
change. He said: "ChinaLink has long been promoting two way trades
and two way investments between China and the UK. As a main partner in
the private sector, ChinaLink welcome the change from Trade Partners UK
and InvestUK into a sigle organisation. It also signifies a clearer role
of this important governmental organisation, making it easier for private
sector consultancy and event management organisations like ChinaLink to
work with UK Trade and Investment"
