| |
| Introduction: Changes to this
year's club meetings |
| |
| Any meeting of China Business Club (UK) is never just about
one specific sector, we will continue to maintain the traditions of the
Club for members (and non-members) as an Open Forum while introducing
some Topical Discussion element in the club meetings. Furthermore,
informal exchanges of information and sharing of China market experience
has been appreciated by members. This year the Club is introducing a Case
Study (where possible) in its meetings for an invited club member to
present to the meeting their success and challenges in the China market.
|
|
| Meeting on 28th April 2004 |
| |
| Topical Discussion will be on China's electronical
and IT industries. With an industry worth £41 billion it has witnessed
an annual growth rate of 20%, is the world's 3rd largest electronic
component and equipment producer and is the world's fastest growing
telecom service market. There will be a presentation about the Electronics
& IT market in China as well as funding opportunities to support UK
businesses in these sectors in doing business with China, especially
on the Electronical and IT Mission to Shanghai & Beijing and the UK-China
Business Matching Event (24 May, Beijing) later on in the year. |
| |
| Case Study for this meeting will
be about the success of Telescope Technologies Ltd that has secured a multi-million
pounds contract from China to build the world's largest robotic telescope.
We are delighted to welcome our Guest Speaker Dr Chris Moss to tell
us the story of a Liverpool based SME making a mark in China's rapidly developing
hi-tech market by beating fierce competition and how they deal with China.
|
| |
| Open Forum is for you. Send us
a topic and bring topics and questions with you. Any recent experience with
China is always welcomed by members and newcomers. |
