Join us to celebrate the occasion of the 2008 Chinese
New Year in the prestigious Stately Home of Lord Derby, Knowsley
Hall (pictured right) in Liverpool, the city that will have
just begun the year as the European Capital
of Culture.

Four years on and with more than 700 business
VIPs attending, the event has gained a reputation nationally
for British businesses who are active in doing business with China
and also the new comers who want to rub shoulders with old-hands
and ChinaLink's partners, who are among the best service
providers in supporting any British company.
2007 has been an extraordinary year for China with
new legislation, new policies, new confidence and new economic
changes promising imminent opportunities for British businesses.
Some UK companies might have missed the last five years of the
post-WTO 'China Opportunity Express', they should not miss
the next five years of what will be another, if not the last,
milestone stage in China's integration into the global economy.
Mr. Jianzhong Gong, the Chinese Consul
General for Northern England will shed some light in
his speech at the dinner. Sponsors and supporters of the event
will be invited to a Sponsor Reception with the Consul General.
The Chief China Adviser of the British Chambers of Commerce will
recount the Top Ten News of UK - China
Trade 2007.
Other speakers in previous years have included the
likes of Ian McCartney, MP and Minister; Dennis Tuner, Chief Economist
of HSBC; and Tony Caldeira, Caldeira Ltd.
A key element of the event is to celebrates achievements
in doing business with China throughout the 2007. Award
winners of the ChinaLink Business of the Year
and ChinaLink Outstanding Achievement Award will be announced
at the event. Previous award winners have done wonders after winning
the ChinaLink awards. Caldeira Ltd, winner in 2006, is on course
to make a one million pound profit for the first time in the company's
history. 2007's winner TEI Green is doubling their turnover this
year, and the Outstanding Achievement Award winner Mr. Xu Kuandi
(Vice-Chaiman of China Political Consultation Conference)
has been elected President of the China National Federation of
Industrial Economy.
A Reception on arrival is followed by a blacktie
Chinese banquet, to be prepared by Knowsley Hall's renowned chef
and served in the State Dinning Room. New year messages,
award presentation, and after-dinner speeches will be both educational
and entertaining. The event will also feature a Charity Draw
for a good course.
Traditional Chinese music and dancing will
entertain guests during the course of the evening, and for those
who are into Feng Shui and Chinese Astrological Horoscopes, and
want to chart what's in store for the year ahead, you will
find out during the course of the evening. To reserve your place
or table, please complete the booking
