British Chambers of Commerce is leading the way in promotion
of inward investment from China. After a recent successful visit
by the President of BCC, Peter Mileham, to China, a joint forum
of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade
(CCPIT) and British Chambers of Commerce (BCC) has been agreed
to be held at China's national gathering of businesses looking
for overseas investment opportunities and support.
China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT),
the Chinese national Chamber, is the host of an annual national
conference (on 22-23 April this year) "Chinese Enterprises' Outbound
Investment Conference" in Beijing aimed at encouraging Chinese
companies to take part in the national globalisation policy of
"Going Abroad". Government policies and regulations will be discussed,
as will successful case studies.
The event has been organised following the success of its inaugural
event last year, which was attended by hundreds of Chinese companies.
The UK Investment Forum is one of the key breakout sessions following
the planetary session in the morning of the 22nd April, designed
to highlight the UK market at the conference. This is timely following
the announcement of the British Prime Minister, Gordon Brown in
Beijing, that he wants to see 100 Chinese companies invest in
the UK. It is anticipated that of the expected 600 attendees,
the UK seminar will hope attract 100 of those enterprises, who
will have pre-registered for this seminar.
The seminar is being marketed nationally across China. More than
50 media organisations have been invited to cover the conference
and there will be some specific in-depth interviews arranged for
the UK group. The seminar will include presentations by a group
of British business experts specialising in services required
by Chinese companies in areas of business operation for the UK
market.
