Invitation to British Hi-Tech Companies
China Hi-Tech Fair 2002

China Hi-Tech Fair is the largest annual international exhibition for hi-tech industries in China. Last year a total of 300,000 visitors attended the exhibition, with over 3320 exhibitors bringing 15404 projects to the show. 1660 registered investors participated, in search of suitable projects. 37 countries outside China took part. Total volume of agreed contracts amounted to $10.418 billion.
Last year 35 British businesses organised by ChinaLink and led by the science and technology minister Lord David Sainsbury took part in the exhibition and it is estimated £6 million contracts had been agreed. One company has since signed a contract for £3m.
For the 3rd consecutive year ChinaLink, in conjunction with Trade Partners UK, will be organising British exhibitors to attend the Fair. Financial support for 15 qualified British companies is available through ChinaLink. Each qualified exhibitor could receive a contribution of up to 60% of the exhibition cost (maximum £2300).
The Fair is arranged in various sections including (1) Overseas Exhibition section, (2) Biotech, (3) ICT and (4) New Business Start-ups. All the sections are designed to bring together new projects with investors and venture capitalists. Companies can either choose to be in the Overseas Exhibition section (with ChinaLink ) or exhibit in other sections.
Registration fees will be £450+VAT which will cover the following services, including
  • Administration of all grant applications for participation and processing of grant claims after the exhibition
  • Negotiating with a travel agent to arrange a group travel package
  • Organising a market seminar to take place in late August
  • Liasing with the Chinese exhibition organisers in space booking and the hiring of interpreters
  • Providing a pre-exhibition briefing in Liverpool and a briefing in Shenzhen in conjunction with the British Consulate General in Guangzhou
  • Providing a bilingual market consultant and/or group manager to manage the exhibition during the Fair
ChinaLink has also signed a partnership agreement with the China Hi-Tech Transfer Centre and will be providing services to support follow-up and facilitate technology transfers into the China market or from the China market. Other services are available to assist in all necessary preparations before the Fair. Please enquire for further details.
