Opportunity for Sport Industry in the China market 4:00pm 28 August 2002 |
What opportunity is there for in the Beijing Olympics 2008 and other sporting events? How can British companies benefit from the opportunity?
To address the questions we have invited Mr. Malcolm Gresty, Export Promoter for the Sport and Leisure Infrastructure Projects and a member in the British Government Taskforce for Beijing Olympics 2008, to be our guest speaker. Malcolm will provide a briefing on the Beijing Olympics 2008 and opportunity arisen from the Games. He will be pleased to answer questions about the Taskforce.
During November in Beijing, ChinaLink will work with Trade Partners UK to organise a group of UK companies to exhibit at a trade fair International Exhibition for the Design, Construction and Maintenance of Sports Venues. Details about exhibition and grants to support exhibitors will be available although many companies would have booked their places by the time of this meeting.
More importantly, we want use the Club seminar to discuss how British companies in the sport sector can work together and mount a concerted effort in competing for contracts in Beijing Olympics 2008 as many projects will require a consortium or a few companies to work together. Work can also be done more effectively and productively as group in researching the market and monitoring the market situation. Bring your questions, ideas, expertise to the meeting and hopefully we will have a collective action plan by the end of the meeting.
The seminar is free but if you would like to attend the China Business Club dinner it will be charged at £25 per head (pay cash or cheque at registration/receipt provided). Places are limited by room capacity therefore we will confirm if your booking is accepted. Please reply before 23rd August 2002.
