Dongying Delegation |

| A civil and trade mission of more than
twenty people, led by Mr. Baoguang Han, Deputy Mayor of Dongying City
from Shangdong province were invited by the UK Office of United Nations
Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO) to visit Britain in early
December. |

| In conjunction with UNIDO and the Northwest Regional
Development Agency, ChinaLink organised a number of business meetings
for the companies from Shangdong to meet UK companies, and to discuss
potential partnership. |
| Dongying City, located in Shangdong, is a economic centre
of Shengli oil field. As one of the major cities in Shangdong, Dongying
City sent delegates from civil, agriculture, petrol chemical, higher
education, textile, machinery etc. companies to visit UK and hoped
to develop Europe markets and promote Dongying - UK economic cooperation
with the help of UNIDOand ChinaLink. |
| In the morning on 4th December, Head of the UK Office
of UNIDO, Mr. John McFadzean, Head of Business Support of the North
West Development Agency, Mr. Paul Warldes, and Director of ChinaLink,
Dr. Kegang Wu, met the delegates in the North West Development Agency.
In the afternoon, a business meeting was held at ChinaLink, Liverpool
Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Dr. Wu briefed the delegates on Sino-UK
business investment. On 5th December, ChinaLink organised one to one
business meetings for UK companies and the Chinese companies from
Dongying. Commission for Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation and
Dongying Economic Development Zone signed a long term cooperate agreement
with ChinaLink and became ChinaLink's seventeenth long term partner
in China. |
