Highlights

	UK Trade & Investment: united new identity for British governmental services in overseas trade and investment
	UK Trade & Investment today became the new single identity for the UK Government's business support organisation British Trade International and its operating arms Trade Partners UK and Invest.UK. The aim of UK Trade & Investment is to help UK companies build their international business and to encourage foreign direct investment. ChinaLink operates a number of UK Trade & Investment schemes in UK and China.
	HMS LIVERPOOL'S VISIT TO SHANGHAI
	British Navy destroyer HMS Liverpool visited Shanghai on 24-28 May 2003.The visit, hailed as a once-a-decade event for Liverpool to Shanghai, added a new dimension to the strong sister city links that has been described by British government as a "excellent model for sister-city relationship".

	Trade Mission to Guangzhou & Hong Kong, China
	Canton Fair is the most established trade fair in China over 40 years and 93 sessions. Last year it was visited by 135,000 visitors from 191 countries. 8,613 Chinese companies exhibited at the Fair. The Fair is both an opportunity for importers to select products out of the 15,000 booths as well as for exporters to exam the availability of competitive products and assess market potential for their own products
