	A special China market Seminar was a main element at the 12th Annual Conference of the European Federation of Chinese Organisations (EFCO) held on 16th August 2004 at Hilton Hotel, National Exhibition Centre, Birmingham. ChinaLink in conjunction with European Federation of Chinese Organisation organised the the Trade & Investment Opportunity Seminar.

	China Expo 2004, Trade & Investment Fair was held between 27th June to 30th June at Earls Court Exhibition Centre, London. ChinaLink was the one of the main sponsorers for the Fair and its Director Dr. Kegang Wu organised a seminar on Investment opportunities during the Fair. 	ChinaLink Trade Mission & Seminar: Electronics & IT sectors (in conjunction with China Hi-Tech Fair 2004, Shenzhen)
	China's total import and export of hi-tech and new technology products increased sharply to USD 142.78 billion during the first half of 2004, representing a 50.2% year-on-year growth rate, according to statistics from China's General Administration of Customs. The export of hi-tech and new technology products recorded a 69.9% year-on-year growth, increasing to USD 70.63 billion, which accounted for 27.4% of all Chinese exports. Meanwhile, the import of hi-tech and new technology products increased 41.5% year-on-year to USD 72.15 billion.
	Opportunity for British Biotech & Pharmaceutical Technologies in the China Market (in conjunction with China Hi-Tech Fair 2004, Shenzhen)
	With the growth rate of 20% each year in the past five years, China has become a major player in the biotech industry. It is a world leader in antibiotics production and is potentially the largest pharmaceutical market in Asia. As the 'industry of the 21st Century', the Chinese Government is committed to strengthen the competitiveness of the industry, with favourable policy initiatives that include tax incentives and government subsidies designed to promote the growth of biotech companies.
	UK Sports & Leisure Infrastructure Mission to China
	ChinaLink, in conjunction with UK Trade & Investment, will organise Exhibitors, Trade Seminars and Trade Visitors from the UK to participate in the exhibition (formally called Green Olympics). Established jointly by China Building Materials Industries Association and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade the exhibition has been held for the last 2 years, attracting over 30,000 visitors with around 400 exhibitors.
