| Shanghai Business Delegation visited Liverpool |
| A delegation of company Chief Executives, presidents and international
trade executive attended a China-UK Trade Seminar in Liverpool Chamber
of Commerce & Industry on 21st June 1999. |
| Led by the Vice-Chamber of the Shanghai Chamber ( CCPIT Shanghai
Sub-Council), Mr. Song Fangsheng, the twelve delegates held talks
in the Chamber with many individual companies from Northern England
and visited Head offices of two chain-stores, T.J. Hughes and Ethel
Austin. |
| Shanghai Chamber has twinned with Liverpool Chamber of Commerce
& Industry since 1993 and in recently years there have been trade
missions going and coming both ways.Both of Shanghai & Liverpool Chamber
vowed to continue the successful cooperation. With the newly established
ChinaLink, a dedicated China trade service in Liverpool Chamber, the
trade link between the two cities will no doubt be greatly enhanced.

| The Lord Mayor of Liverpool, Cllr. Joe Denaney, spoke in the evening
reception to welcome to Shanghai guests and praised the contribution
of the trade link toward the process of establishing Friendship City
status between Shanghai and Liverpool. |
