Visit of Jiangsu Textile
Companies to Liverpool
An opportunity to meet Chinese textile companies seeking import & export cooperation 10th June 2002 |
|
| China's accession to the WTO brings tremendous opportunities for export to China of British textile machinery and services and to import from China high quality fabrics. There has been a strong demand for British textile technology and machinery in recent years due to the fact that China is unable to produce most equipment for dyeing & printing factories, weaving mills and chemical fibre plants (US$1.2 billion of textile machinery was imported last year, according to official statistics). Import quota will increase by 25 percent on a yearly basis, and will be completely eliminated by 2005 | |
| Jiangsu is a leading province in the textile industry in China. | |
|
The 40 strong delegation represents the important textile companies of the province. They will bring details of more than 20 textile projects. They will be in Liverpool on 10th June 2002 to meet with British textile industry companies. |
|
| - | To seek British textile technologies; |
| - | To explore opportunities for importing textile machinery; |
| - | To explore joint venture opportunities with project details; |

| Format of the meeting will be one-to-one individual discussions between British companies and the representatives from Jiangsu in ChinaLink, Liverpool Chamber of Commerce. | |
| A booking form listing the names of company delegates, together with preliminary details of their projects for you to indicate the companies you wish to meet will be provided after receipt of your completed reply slip. Deadline for booking is 31st May 2002. | |
