European Languages Center

The European Languages Centre is accredited by the British Council and is a member of ARELS. The school was founded in order to provide students from all over the world with high quality language courses in a region of Britain internationally famous for its academic, cultural and commercial excellence.

Indeed, Liverpool is an important maritime city and regional capital with magnificent Georgian and Victorian architecture, a busy and thriving port with ships arriving from all over the world and views across the Irish Sea to the Atlantic Ocean.
Our school is situated in the heart of this exciting, modern city and is within five minutes walk of national art galleries, museums and libraries, modern cinemas and traditional theatres, department stores and specialist boutiques, as well as excellent restaurants and friendly pubs. Moreover, Liverpool has the oldest Chinese community in Europe and its Chinese quarter is a popular and bustling area of the city centre.
At the European Languages Centre, our teachers are highly qualified and committed to the individual success and advancement of every student, combining contemporary teaching methods with the most recent materials and facilities to ensure each student's progress. Consequently, every student has access to the Computer Suite and software for Computer Assisted Language Learning (C.A.L.L.), CD's, ISDN Internet Connections, Email addresses, Local Area Network (L.A.N.) as well as videos, audio-cassettes, Overhead Projectors (O.H.P.) and library.

We provide English language tuition at 6 levels from 'beginner' through to 'advanced' in small groups with an average of 8 students. We offer courses in General English, English for Academic Purposes (E.A.P.), English for Business and Commerce as well as English for Accounting, Banking, Engineering, Law, Medicine, Sales and Marketing and Tourism and many more on request.

Also at the European Languages Centre, students can study for all of the Cambridge examinations including P.E.T (Preliminary English Test), K.E.T. (Key English Test), First Certificate, Certificate of Advanced English (C.A.E.) and Proficiency as well as I.E.L.T.S. (British university entrance examination), T.O.E.I.C. (Test of English for International Commerce) and T.O.E.F.L..

Study English in the home of a qualified and experienced English teacher in U.K.. Homestay tuition for 15, 20, 25 or 30 hours per week is the most effective path to rapid improvement of your English. Courses are Individual (One-to-One) or in small groups with a maximum of 4 students. It is the ideal programme if you have an urgent need to expand your language skills and little time to spare.

TESOL Course
(Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages)

Our aim is to enable TESOL students to develop a greater understanding of the teaching and learning process and to adopt a reflective, questioning and critical approach to teaching, building on the student's own set of beliefs and experiences. The course is practical, innovative, challenging and enjoyable and students receive a TESOL Certificate upon successful completion of the course. This will enable our students to secure rewarding employment as Teachers of English. The course is designed for people from a wide variety of backgrounds who may or may not have any teaching experience

Private One-to-One Tuition

6 hours per day Intensive One-to-One tuition is also available.
