A high level Chinese trade delegation is to visit the North West
of England in the UK and Dublin in September. The five member group,
led by Mr. Chen Chaoren, Deputy Secretary General of the Canton
Fair and Deputy Director of the China Foreign Trade Centre and a
senior officer from the Chinese Ministry of Commerce, will visit
Liverpool and Manchester before flying to Dublin. The visit is sponsored
by the Chinese Embassy in the UK, the Chinese Embassy in Ireland
and the China Foreign Trade Centre, co-ordinated by ChinaLink,
based at Liverpool Chamber of Commerce in association with Dublin

Setting up an operation in China
- sourcing office, sales office, representative office, joint venture,
wholly owned foreign enterprises, etc - is not as hard as many believe.
A seminar of China Business Club (UK),
a service of ChinaLink,
was held on 27th June in Liverpool. Through presentations made from
an inward trade mission from Shanghai and the visiting Chief Representative
of Guangdong, this meeting used the case studies of Shanghai and
Guangdong to explore some of the pros and cons of setting up a company
in China including some of the more important factors which may
affect where you set up in China.
