China Hi-Tech Fair is the biggest annual exhibition in China for high-tech industries. Further to the successful of the UK delegation last year, with the support from Trade Partners UK, ChinaLink is to organise a major British delegation to take part in the event.

Last year according to the estimates of the exhibition members, the UK Pavilion was visited by nearly 8000 Chinese visitors. Collectively the UK companies distributed around 16,000 copies of company and product brochures. Ten companies are expecting orders. The total of orders received and expected in 2 years following the fair could be up to £1 million. The Fair provides an excellent opportunity to see just how rapidly China’s hi-tech sector is developing. It is an ideal way to make Chinese contacts in that sector, and for British organisations to promote their own expertise, whether in research, design, production, management or financing. Many multi-national companies are represented, and the Shenzhen authorities are keen to see a bigger British presence there this year. Companies can take part in the UK delegation as exhibitors or as non-exhibitors in a number of ways. Financial support from Trade Partners UK to the qualified British companies is available through ChinaLink. Each qualified exhibitor could receive contribution toward 60% of the exhibition cost, up to £2300 and a further supplemental grant of £1200. Details are available on request.
