The college runs its own training salons, restaurant and bakery. Visits, field trips and opportunities to display work are built into all courses. The size of the college means that the choice of subjects and the way they can be combined is very large.
We have provision at all levels up to and including some higher education courses. Opportunities for progression are built into each level. All qualifications are nationally recognised and to industry standards. English as a Foreign Language courses are accredited by the British council. We have substantial links with the various vocational sectors both locally and nationally. Our links with local universities are excellent and we are an associate college of Liverpool John Moores University. Our students are able to use many of the social facilities for the universities. This is particularly attractive to students from abroad.
The government judged this college to have one of the best student support systems in the country. This includes educational advice and guidance before starting a course, financial advice, on-course support and preparation for the next step through careers guidance.
Although this is such a large college we have an excellent reputation for welcoming and looking after overseas students. The English Language Unit assists with all aspects for life in Liverpool including finding accommodation, often with host families. This is a friendly and relaxed place to study where students are expected to work hard and achieve their goals.
The city also has a long-established Chinese community and is renowned for welcoming visitors. It is currently undertaking a major regeneration programme and is an exciting place to live and study. Jung, described Liverpool as "the pool of life", we think it still applies.
