The School
The Summer Programme
The School:
Welcome to the Liverpool School of English, an ambitious project initiated
by people who believed that learning can be and should be fun. To achieve
that goal, they have arranged informative lessons, exciting excursions
and many interesting places for you to visit in the afternoon. All students
are also invited to a full social activity programme every evening you
spent with the Liverpool School of English.
The teachers in the school use the communicative approach to language
teaching and offer integrated skills based courses requiring the students
to use all four skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing.
The students are taught in small groups, the maximum class size is twelve.
Teachers are university graduates with specialist qualifications to teach
English as a foreign language. Classes are supervised by a qualified and
trained course director, who has several years' experience of teaching
English overseas. The course director will be available to discuss your
needs. The teachers work in pairs so that the students can experience
two different teaching styles, and a course structure has been developed
to bring the most in a short period of time.
The Liverpool School of English offers a diverse range of courses, all
of which include a full social programme and week-end excursions to various
places of interest around Great Britain and Paris, therefore presenting
our students with plenty of opportunities for language practice informally
and in everyday situations.

The third lesson, concentrates on language skills -- reading, writing
, listening and, most importantly, speaking. The fourth lesson is used
to prepare the students for the afternoon excursions and for learning
new vocabulary.
This tuition is then extended in the afternoon by means of worksheets
while visiting cultural places of interest.
The students complete a small project during their visit. They produce
a School Newsletter using computers to introduce the students to computer-aided
language learning.
