Water Witch Multi-Purpose Pollution Control Vessels
The Water Witch is a unique and innovative multi-purpose workboat designed
for operation in Ports, Harbours and Waterways throughout the world.
It is through first hand experience that the company has been able to
perfect the Water Witch in terms of reliability, ease of use and maintenance.
It offers a practical and cost-effective solution in the competitive market
of pollution control.
Floating Debris
The vessel can remove all types of floating and submerged debris from
rivers, from large timber logs to plastics.
Oil Pollution
Every Water Witch can be equipped with a range of specialist equipment
to combat Oil Pollution. Special oil skimmers or MOP units can be fitted
to remove oil from the water. The vessel's powerful hydraulic system can
also operate pressure washers and a special dispersant spray unit, which
is mounted on the front of the vessel for treatment of split oil. Oil
containment booms, fitted to the rear of the vessel, can be deployed quickly
and efficiently.
Storage and Transfer
The unique and innovative Skipper Barge provides a cost-effective system
for storing recovered debris, dredge or oil. The Barge has been designed
to hold a standard six cubic meter skip which is widely used by waste
disposal contractors. The skip can be fitted and removed extremely quickly
using a skip wagon. Tanker skips can be used for storing liquid waste
if required and the Barges can be offered in a variety of combination
to suit local requirements.
Dredging
When fitted with the deep dig dredge until the Water Witch can dredge
to a depth of 3.65 meters. For the specialist application the versatile
Double 4 Bucket attachment with a capacity of 0.57 cubic meters is offered.
The Weed Ripper and Mesh Scoop attachments can also be fitted to the deep
dig unit if required.
Aquatic Weed Control
The Water Witch offers an immediate cost-effective solution for the removal/harvesting
of aquatic weeds in addition to the removal of general surface debris
and dredging duties.
The use of phosphate based agricultural fertilisers and household detergents,
many of which end up in the water supply, has created an explosive growth
in aquatic vegetation and supplying high levels of nutrients. Widespread
concern about the continuous use of chemical herbicides has resulted in
an increasing demand for mechanical control of aquatic weeds. Using the
Water Witch to remove weed will quickly bring vegetation growth under
control in an environmentally safe manner. As the vessel removes the vegetation
mostly by the root, re-growth is not encouraged.
Lifting Duties
Loads of up to 1 tonne can be lifted with the front loader without any
adverse effect on stability of the craft. A special Crane Attachment is
available.
Salvage/Fire Fighting
Powerful pump, operated from the vessel's own hydraulic system can be
used for emergencies when required.
